This technique I found is called bubble glazing. Basically the idea is to use an under glaze and mix it with soap and then blow bubbles as if it were milk onto your piece of pottery and allow the bubbles to pop creating unique circle effects. The pottery is then fired just like a regular pot or plate in a kiln. I really like the way the bubbles have an effect on the clay. We could, and easily did do this in class. It seems easy enough and fun as well. |
