This cup I decided I wanted to be a bit different. I didn't want it to be the regular circular cup like everybody else was making so decided to make is square, almost like the tiny open box. I started out by making a slab of clay and cutting out even squares and setting them up on another square piece of slab. I them started to score and slip and blend it all together. I used water and a spoon to get the canvas texture off of the clay so it would be smooth. After it was dry a little and more leather hard I sculpted a tiny bow to score and slip on the from of it for visual appeal. After everything was done and it was bisque fired, I decided to give it an abstracted dripping look using albany slip brown on the base and then taking indigo float and glazing the bow and then dripping it down the rest of the sides. I really like how the two colors are opposites and it makes it really pop.
